A photo of Shari w/the ladies in January at their workshop in Madre Selva, Puerto Vallarta. (Shari is wearing “the Shari” necklace they made for her)

This is the heart of Madre Selva, the humble community where they reside. Devoid of everyday comforts like running water, sewerage, and electricity, they persevere without the simple luxuries we often take for granted, even lacking a front door to shelter them from the elements. Their homes, makeshift pallet shacks crafted from any available materials, reflect their resourcefulness in the face of adversity.

These beautiful ladies, brimming with resilience and determination, would otherwise be compelled to sift through trash at the dump to secure their livelihood. Four mothers joined hands to create a jewelry business, supporting their poverty-stricken family in the Madre Selva community near the dump north of Puerto Vallarta Mexico.
